Sooners Secure First 2028 Recruit with Local Infielder Saenz
Oklahoma softball received its first commitment for the 2028 class from middle infielder Braylyn Saenz, a Moore, Okla., product. Saenz is ranked No. 41 nationally by Softball America and joins a program with a strong recruiting pipeline.
Saenz, a middle infielder from Moore, Oklahoma, is rated 41st nationally and 13th at her position by Softball America. Her pledge arrived during a recruiting weekend that also featured visits from highly touted prospects Sophia Schlader, Caelyn Campos, and Gia Ryan, who are ranked third, fourth, and twenty-second respectively in the class.
The Sooners already hold three commitments for the 2027 cycle, including top overall prospect Finlee Williams. Additionally, local standout Juliana "Goose" Hutchens reclassified to join the current roster, and all incoming players will benefit from the NCAA's new five-for-five eligibility model, allowing extended time under coach Patty Gasso.
