Navigating BofA's revamped travel booking portal

Bank of America's travel portal, updated in July 2026, offers eligible cardholders a wider selection of flights, hotels, and activities. Users can mix rewards with card payments, but the available features depend on which BofA card they hold. The portal is accessible through online banking or the mobile app for certain cards.
The July 2026 overhaul, powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda, introduced enhanced search filters, detailed hotel information, and the ability to combine airlines on round-trip itineraries. It also allows eligible users to blend reward points with standard card payments.
Access and functionality are tiered by card type. While Premium Rewards cards allow reward redemption through online or mobile banking, other cards like Travel Rewards or Customized Cash Rewards are restricted to paid bookings, with some accessed only via the Erica virtual assistant or search functions. The portal supports multicity searches and compares over 170 airlines.
This revamp could shift consumer travel booking habits by making Bank of America's rewards ecosystem more competitive with larger issuers. Travelers holding premium cards may find it easier to maximize value by mixing points and cash, potentially increasing loyalty. However, the fragmented access based on card tier may confuse some users, and those with basic cards might feel excluded from redemption features, possibly influencing their future card choices or spending patterns.
