A 2026 *Communications Psychology* study found that extraverted participants felt a stronger bond with an AI speaking in an extraverted style. For introverts, AI may offer a low-stakes environment to refine incomplete ideas, whereas extraverts might need explicit instructions to pause idea generation and encourage internal reflection.
The research could shape how AI developers personalize conversational agents, potentially tailoring tone to match user temperament. This may enhance user satisfaction and productivity, but could also entrench habitual thinking patterns if AI simply echoes existing biases.
