Commerce Department to Accept New Broadband Funding Proposals

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration announced it will accept new proposals from states for unused Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment program funds. The new round targets newly identified unserved locations, including those affected by updated FCC maps or defaults in other programs. Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska praised the move, saying it could make over 5,000 new locations in his state eligible for funding.
