Severe Thunderstorms Cause Damage Across Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Severe thunderstorms struck from Michigan to Pennsylvania on September 2-3, damaging trees and power infrastructure. A gust of 103 km/h was recorded at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on September 3. DTE Energy restored power to 145,000 customers by September 4, and the Storm Prediction Center maintained a slight risk for damaging wind gusts.
