EU Enlargement Chief Scraps Serbia Visit Over Mladic Glorification

Marta Kos, the EU's enlargement commissioner, called off her trip to Serbia after the country honored the late war criminal Ratko Mladic with military ceremonies. Mladic's remains were flown from The Hague to Belgrade ahead of his burial, drawing criticism from Brussels. Kos said such glorification contradicts EU principles and prompted her decision to cancel the visit.
