JetBlue Debuts New Lounge at Boston Logan
JetBlue unveiled its second BlueHouse lounge at Boston Logan International Airport, following the first location at JFK. The 12,000-square-foot space seats 204 guests and features locally inspired food, cocktails, and coffee. It opens on August 27, directly across from Gate C25.
The lounge's design incorporates numerous Boston-specific touches, including a replica of Fenway Park's Green Monster scoreboard and a workspace styled after the Boston Public Library. Smaller details include a custom Dunkin' Donuts model on a bookshelf and a hidden image of Paul Revere riding an Embraer E-190 visible through a peephole near the entrance.
JetBlue president Marty St. George, a Boston native, personally guided media through the space during Monday's unveiling. The lounge opening precedes a planned billion-dollar renovation of Terminal C, where JetBlue shares gates with Cape Air, Etihad Airways, and Aer Lingus. The airline competes directly with Delta for dominance at Boston Logan.
This lounge signals how airlines increasingly court premium travelers willing to pay more for comfort, potentially reshaping airport experiences for all passengers. Frequent flyers and credit card holders may gain new amenities, while casual travelers could see resources shift toward higher-spending customers. As carriers compete for lucrative markets like Boston, lounge access may become a more significant factor in airline choice, possibly influencing ticket pricing and loyalty program values.
